Mohammed I. Sabri

PhD, Neuroscientist, Professor Emeritus, Oregon Health and Science University

Dr. Sabri has made significant contributions to the neuroscience field, laying the groundwork for understanding axonal transport and neurodegeneration. His studies showed for the first time that disruption of energy-dependent axonal transport is one of the major causes of nerve-cell damage by toxic agents. He has published over 200 research papers, book chapters, and abstracts and received prestigious awards and honors. He served as a member of several NIH grant review panels and study sections and as Editorial Board Member for the journals Neurochemistry and Neurotoxicology. He is a founding member of the  Society for Neuroscience and the American Society for Neurochemistry.
